Security Blanky

I have to literally sneak this blanket to the washing machine if I want it washed, which is every week. This little boy wants to take it mostly everywhere..even in warm weather. For some reason he likes to bite on it, too. And let me tell you, if he cannot locate "blankey" someone's going down. Not me. I've become good at the sneaking thing. I don't mind, I think it's cute. Do your kids have a "security" item? Let me know!!!

My son just gave up his binki in January. He only had it at bedtime, but giving up that security has been very hard on his sleep. My daughter loves one of her blankies, but is to young to ask for it and it stays in her bed for now...

I think its cute too!! However, my son loves his big sisters doll!! And its not like a small barbie doll, oh no, it's a big doll that talks and everything!! I think its cute though, b/c it shows his compassionate side, however, I DO NOT let him take it out in public!!

My daughter loves her blankie and her dolly...in the morning when she wakes up, she makes sure that she gathers up both of them before mommy takes her out of her crib! Security blankets are wonderful for children and it allows them to self soothe...definetly a strength if a toddler has something that they are connected to emotionally!

Among other findings, they showed that security blankets are appropriately named — they actually do give security to those children attached to them. Along with other positive benefits, having a security blanket available can help children adapt to new situations, aid in their learning, and adjust to physicians' and clinical psychologists' evaluations. Dr. Passman's research also points out that there is nothing abnormal about being attached to them. About 60% of children in the United States have at least some attachment to a security object.

The day we brought Amara home, Destiny was 15 months old.My mom got the baby(amara) a pink blanket that is silky on one side and just soft on the other. Destiny took it and went to her room and has slept with it every night since! She doesn't drag it around as much as she used to,but when I wash it she asks every 5 minutes if it's almost done! Amara didn't have anything that she was close with until we brought Mylee home and a friend had bought mylee a blankie very similar to destinys only smaller and Amara took it and now it's hers!! Since I'm not having any more babies i'm not sure whos blankie Mylee will take!! haha
